Oregon's Foster Care System: Improving, But Still A Ways To Go

Kendra Jones, Executive Director at CASA of Lane County, joins Michael Dunne, host of Oregon On The Record, on his podcast to talk about the foster care system in Oregon and learn about CASA’s role in placing volunteers with children in need to help them navigate the large and often overburdened system. Dunne and Jones discuss the pros and cons of the foster system with considerable hops that the foster system can continue to improve but recognizing that resources and manpower continue to be a difficult hurdle to make this possible.

Along with Jones, Dunne speaks with Jenna App of the state CASA Network; CASA volunteer Chris Cunningham; First Moon Venecia, a former foster child helped by CASA; and Chuck Nyby, the Lane County Program Manager for the Department of Human Services.
