Fostering Futures
Empowering Youth
Fostering Futures is a dedicated initiative aimed at empowering youth transitioning out of foster care, ensuring they have the necessary support to navigate towards a successful adulthood. We firmly believe that every young adult, regardless of their past, has the potential to achieve high school graduation, secure living wage employment, and lead a healthy, fulfilling life.
Our approach is rooted in the understanding that a caring, consistent adult can significantly impact these young lives, providing guidance, helping them overcome challenges, and celebrating their victories.
Our CASAs play a crucial role in the community, advising the youth on difficult decisions, opening doors, and providing a sense of belonging, even after the child’s case closes. This initiative is our commitment to expand our services to more youth preparing to age out of foster care and ensure that foster care alumni have the support they need to thrive.
The CASA Difference
Financial Resource Guide
As a part of the Leadership Eugene Springfield program, CASA of Lane County’s executive director, Kendra Jones, completed a group project focused on Youth Financial Literacy. Through research, they created a guide for youth, their parents, and community organizations to navigate the existing financial resources in our community.
Connected Lane County has graciously agreed to sustain this work into the future. The guide will be hosted by many youth-serving organizations, including CASA of Lane County.
Building Brighter Futures
Under Fostering Futures, we provide specialized training to our CASA volunteers focused on:
