The pandemic posed significant challenges with volunteer recruitment, retention, and events. While in the early days of the pandemic due to an outpouring of support, volunteer recruitment numbers and event revenues remained steady; however, over time, as the pandemic took its toll on individuals, families, and businesses, a decrease in recruitment and revenue was seen, along with higher volunteer turnover.
