CASA of Lane County: We’re Strong. We’re Here. And We Need You.

Dear CASA Volunteers and Supporters,

We want to share important news that impacts our broader network—and reaffirm the strength of CASA of Lane County during this moment.

This week, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) announced the immediate suspension of federal funding for CASA programs nationwide. This includes funding that has historically supported training, technical assistance, and infrastructure through our national network.

While CASA of Lane County does not rely heavily on this federal stream for our core operations, we recognize the gravity of this shift for our state and national partners. Most importantly, we understand the uncertainty it may raise for those who care deeply about the children we serve.

Let us be clear: CASA of Lane County is financially strong, operationally resilient, and more committed than ever to standing up for children who’ve experienced abuse and neglect. Thanks to the generosity of local supporters, community partners, and the incredible dedication of volunteers like you, our program remains on solid footing.

But moments like this remind us: we cannot take anything for granted.

We need you—now more than ever.

As we continue to navigate a changing funding landscape, your support is essential to sustain and grow our work. Whether through your time, advocacy, or donations, your commitment makes a direct and lasting difference in the life of a child in our community.

This is a Call to Action to show your support for two important funding bills currently under consideration in our State Legislature. Please see the attached flyer for more details and to learn how you can make your voice heard.

Together, we are the voice for children in foster care. Together, we are a powerful force for healing, stability, and hope.

Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in every child’s right to be seen, heard, and protected.

With deep gratitude,

Kendra Jones
